PETE'S HUNTS
This page is for family and friends to see how my own personal hunts went, and for the interested to see where I hunted and links to the outfitters
that I hunted with. Enjoy.
This BIG Tom and I hunted each other for TWO years, during the late archery deer season. We would go in a circle - his tracks, over my tracks, over his tracks. I finally called up a buddy with dogs and got him in the spring of ’99.
He is now a life-size mount, and is probably my favorite trophy.

This was my first hunt where I hired an outfitter. I hunted with Ceaser Lake Outfitters, in Canada's Yukon territory. Owned by the Wilkinson family,
Terry, Ruth, their son Joel, and "Uncle" Don. Joel guided me to this Mountain Caribou that placed #3 for SCI, and #31 for P&Y. The Interior Grizzly took
one arrow and SIX .300 WIN-MAG bullets. He taped out at 6' and weighed five to six hundred pounds. This took place in 2002 when I was 25, and I met LIFE-LONG
friends in the Wilkinson's.

I enjoyed hunting with the Wilkinson's so much that I went back the following year for moose. I shot this bull with Joel at 15 yards with my bow, and the
bull only went 25 yards before expiring. He taped out at 61 1/2" wide and placed in the top 200 for P&Y.
Many well know hunters, Pete Shepley, Founder of PSE Archery, and Weatherby Award winner and author J. Y. Jones have hunted with the Wilkinson's. Terry was
named Safari Club International's North American Professional Hunter of the Year in 2006.
Sometime down the road, I'll hunt Dall Sheep and Mountain Goats with them.
This is a trail cam picture of a Alberta Whitetail that I wounded with my bow and was unfortunately unable to recover. After a day of tracking, a fresh
snow came in and covered up the trail. This hunt took place in 2004 with Kelvin and Robbie Angermeier owners of Little Rock Adventures. Like the
Wilkinson's, I can't say enough about the Angermeiers. With Robby's cooking and Kelvin's knowledge of BIG bucks, I know you'll have a GREAT hunt.

In 2005 I made it back to Ohio to hunt on the family farm, on my mom's side. As you can see by the photos it has GREAT whitetail habitat. I was there
about a week early. The corn and beans were still in the fields, and so were the deer. I saw a number of good sized bucks while going back to the farm
house at night, but they were in the corn during the day. I did have a chance at a doe, but decided to pass on her. As I was taking down the stands, and
the crops were being hauled in, I came across quite a few scrapes and rubs. The farm has about 100 treed acres, not including the hedge-lows. My cousins
also have a 50 acre 9 hole golf course that has been unused and overgrown now for TEN years. They are also looking for a way to put the land to use. After
a couple years of development, I will be able to run hunts off of them a few weeks throughout the fall.
