Guided Elk Hunting Trips

RIFLE HUNTS
Elk Hunting Trips If you are lucky enough to have drawn a early rifle tag (in the rut), which is late September and into early October, you can be a little picky about the Elk Hunting Trips bull you take. If you have drawn a late season tag, we are in for some work, and you should not pass-up a mature bull. The late season typically starts the Friday before Thanksgiving, and is five days at $3,000 a person. I recommend a .270 up to a ".30" caliber. Anything more is over-kill, and you start significantly damaging the meat. I also recommend that you can make a 200 yard shot.

Archery Elk Hunts ARCHERY HUNTS
The archery hunts are FULL of action! You will be impressed with the vocal talents of these BIG bulls, and they will get your heart pumping. You will have shot opportunity at least once, often twice a day. The hunts are five days in duration, $3,000 a person, and generally start the 2nd Friday in September. I recommend that you are shooting a bow that is 65 lbs. or more. Your arrow shafts should be 300gr. + and your broad heads should be FIXED BLADE weighing 100gr or more. I recommend that you can hit a paper plate at 70-80 yards. That way you are deadly at 50-60 yards. Sure enough if your max range is 40 yards, they will always be out at 60 yards.

Muzzleloader Elk Hunting MUZZLELOADER HUNTS
The muzzleloader hunts are just as exciting as the archery hunts. They typically start the last Friday in September. There is also a hunt the 2nd. Friday in November. I recommend a 45 or 50 caliber, and to be deadly at 100 yards. They are $3,000 and last for five days.

Cow Elk Hunts COW ELK HUNTS
The cow elk hunts are throughout the fall, and are NOT outfitted. We will pick you up at a local hotel/motel and go out for the day. These hunts rarely last longer than a day. These cost $800 and are for two days. Food and lodging are at your own expense.

Your Rifle, Archery, or Muzzleloader Hunt WILL Include:
  • Your experienced licensed guide.
  • Transportation while in the field.
  • A 40"x86" cot with a 2'x4' table and chair in a spacious 16'x20' canvas wall tent, that has a wood burning stove (no more than 4 clients will be in one tent).
  • Your dietary needs will be met by the camp cook, with three hearty meals a day (with plenty of snacks for the field). Meals are in a 10'x20' dining tent with roll-up sides.
  • The cook's camp trailer has shower facilities, and generator and/or solar electric power outlets.
  • Your guide will be First Aid Certified, and will tailor your hunt to your physical abilities.
  • I was Arizona’s 2004 elk calling champion, and national finalist. I have taught your guide the techniques needed to be an expert caller for the early rut hunts. For the later general rifle hunts your guide will have calluses on his feet from stalking, still hunting, and calluses on his rear from sitting waterholes, and glassing.

Guided Elk Hunts
