DEER HUNTS

You will have opportunity on a mature buck if you are hunting with a Rifle, Bow, or Muzzleloader. When my guides and I are hunting during the early archery season, we come across many different bucks in all the units I outfit in. Annually these deer and their progeny don’t move farther than a ten square mile area. If you have a Muledeer tag, we will be using spot and stalk, tree stands and ground blinds, and still hunting techniques. If you have a Whitetail tag in your pocket, be prepared to do a LOT of glassing. South Rim Deer hunts (Units 5-11, 21, 22) are $3,000 and are 5 days in duration. North Rim Deer hunts (The 12 and 13 units) are $4,000 and are 7 days in duration.

RIFLE HUNTS
Guided Deer Hunts There are several Whitetail and Muledeer hunts through out the fall. The "general season" is in late October or early November, and the "premium" season is in mid-December (This is when the deer are in the rut). A .243 to a ".30" caliber should do the job just fine. You should be confident in a 200 yard shot.

ARCHERY HUNTS
guided Deer Hunting There are three archery deer hunts through-out the fall. The first season starts in late August or early September. The second is in mid-September and is on the North Rim. At this same time of year there are also archery Turkey and Black bear seasons, and this would make a GREAT combination hunt. The third season is in late December and into January. This is the time that the deer are rutting, and is the only time that you can bow hunt them when they have “hard horns”. Now... you are allowed ONE deer per calendar year, and this seasons lap in years allows for a TWO deer hunt. We would hunt five days for Muledeer, and January 1st. we would start hunting for Whitetails. This two deer hunt is $5,000.

Deer Hunting ALL FALL ARCHERY DEER, TURKEY, AND BLACK BEAR HUNTS ARE OVER THE COUNTER TAGS. You should be pulling 60LBS or more, and shooting no less than 200gr. shafts, and 100gr. broad heads. I recommend that you are deadly at 60 yards.

MUZZLELOADER HUNTS
There is one hunt in October that is a South Rim hunt, and one in November that is a North Rim hunt. These are "any antlered deer" hunts. You should be confident in a 150 yard shot. A .45 or .50 caliber should work fine.
